Senior Business Advisor - Innovation Specialist

Greater Manchester’s Business Growth Hub has a vacancy for an experienced individual to lead a team of specialist innovation advisors to deliver high quality specialist business growth advice along with managing your own portfolio of ambitious businesses that are aiming to achieve growth through innovation. 

The team provides practical, in-depth advice to business owners and senior managers of companies looking to invest in the development and commercialisation of new products or services and diagnose any barriers which may be holding back the exploitation of new technology or ideas. 

Essential Skills: 

  • Manage, quality assure, monitor and report team performance and progress against contractual targets and budgets.
  • Keep up to date with developments in innovation and the funding landscape to ensure support services are relevant and aligned to business need and growth opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a portfolio of eligible and suitable SMEs, identifying complex business issues and understand the research and innovation challenges and deliver bespoke support directly to enable the client to fully meet their innovation potential.
  • Support the development and delivery of innovation, including appropriate tools and resources, targeted at helping businesses commercialise new products and services, to improve profitability and competitiveness. 
  • Support in managing external, sub-contracted and partner services contributing to the delivery of business advice, ensuring appropriate deployment and utilization according to project and client need.
