Technical Programme Manager - GM Good Employment Charter

Technical Programme Manager – GM Good Employment Charter

Greater Manchester is using the unique devolution powers in the city region to lead the way on supporting employers to raise employment standards. At the heart of this work is the development of a Good Employment Charter delivering the Greater Manchester Strategy priorities of ‘good jobs with opportunities for people to progress and develop’ and ‘a thriving and productive economy in all parts of Greater Manchester’. Development of the Charter is being led by the Mayor and other Leaders in the city region, and the Charter framework has been developed through a process of co-design, involving employers from all sectors, employees, districts and other experts.   The Charter is now at the implementation stage and is moving quickly to develop systems, standards, communications and support activities that will help deliver meaningful change to employment standards across Greater Manchester.

This is a significant role in a key area of the programme.  You will operate on both a strategic and operational level, specifically focusing on the organisational and development needs of the Charter’s delivery, including helping to set up the Good Employment Charter Unit.  Reporting to the Head of Strategic Relationships, you will work alongside a broad range of colleagues and external stakeholders to establish mechanisms to engage and support employers across the Supporter, Member and Advocate levels of the Charter membership. You will oversee the co-production with partners, of Charter systems and standards as well as developing information resources and managing an extensive providers network.

This will include working directly with the other staff in the unit to develop marketing plans for the service and to ensure the right volume and type of client is targeted and to identify, justify and lead new areas of activity through the monitoring of policy, funding, market developments and customer needs.
